Problems using multiple audio devices

I use a program called virtual dj. On windows xp, it uses two external usb soundcards in order for me to mix 2 tracks together. This works fine on windows xp. However, on vista, when both devices are installed/connected, the sound file skips ahead randomly. This is without heavy cpu load or i/o activity. Can anyone offer any suggestions to correct this?

As I understand it, Vista can only output to one audio device at a time - this may be your problem.
There are lot's of people out there with HTPCs (as in my case) that are trying to configure audio over HDMI and analogue or digital output to an AV receiver at the same time (without having to change the default device under control panel).
I
think this simultanious audio device problem is causing widespread issues...
